Steve Lawler’s excellent VIVa imprint is to release In My Factory, the debut album from Italian producer, Leon, on 28th May.  In 2011 Italian DJ and producer Leon emerged as something of a new school tech house star. His productions ranged from big, floor filling and anthemic like ‘Like This, Like That’ or ‘Body Monster’ on Saved, to deeper and more stripped back for labels like Cécile. Now in 2012 he’s set to blow up, with his full-length album on Steve Lawler’s VIVa exploring plenty of different vibes from start to finish, often with the help of a guest along the way. From the dreamy opening track complete with spoken word vocal, it’s clear this album is not just all about the dancefloor.

Nino Blink presenta una traccia di pop eccentrico e segnali acustici, con percussioni e basso pulsante. James Harcourt remixa la  traccia con un groove Tech-House, una linea di basso fortemente bassa e oscillante, mentre Jon Gurd sforna un mostro di potente Techno e Terry Whyte prende una svolta con una traccia più scura, e una rielaborazione inquietante, minimal e perfetta per i clubber più angoscianti.

SaffronKeira è un progetto nato nel 2008 da Eugenio Caria in Sardegna. Dopo aver contribuito alla serie Störung live series003 e alla performance al festival di arte visiva di musica sperimentale elettronica Störung a Barcelona e succesivamente al remix per Charles-Eric Charries della traccia 12From rilasciata su Experimedia Records il prossimo omonimo s/t su 10" e digitale costituisce la prima versione singolo del suo progetto che allo stesso tempo funge da antipasto al suo album d'esordio " A NEW LIFE" che verrà rilasciato a Luglio su Denovali Records.

I CANI GIGANTI (Marcio McFly - Pepè – Plasman) interagiscono nascosti dalle loro macchine sonore con l’obiettivo di disfare le logiche del dancefloor. Le strutture dei sequencers analogici sono preparate in studio per poi essere rimescolate ad arte durante la performance live, dove la matematica algida delle macchine incontra l’emotività dell’improvvisazione musicale. Nei live dei CANI GIGANTI gli schemi sintetici si fondono con il pulsare della pista evolvendo in modo dinamico grazie ad un instaurato magnetismo palco-dancefloor. Continue risalite di ritmi techno e suoni analogici in risonanza si alternano a melodie ipnotiche che sfiorano a tratti sonorità trance.

PBR Streetgang have a long lasting relationship with 2020Vision, through the various record shops, dancefloors and after parties shared in Leeds over the years.  They have also remixed tracks from the last two Crazy P albums for the label. As residents at We Love at Space Ibiza they’ve carved a niche as a classy DJ double act as adept at backroom disco sets or terrace filling house tear ups, all delivered with a smattering of funk and good times.

We celebrate our number 30 with a double pack, featuring one of the creators of techno in Spain: Groof. Roberto Gemelín, from Madrid, is Groof. He’s Robert Calvin too. No matter which of his alias you know him by, he’s one of the most active producers in the Madrid arena. Aka Robert Calvin, he released materials with Turbo (Tiga’s label) in 2004, having previously collaborated with Star Whores in a joint release with Alek Stark (2002).

  Berlin‘s Alex Niggemann is one of an exciting new run of artists to arrive on Steve Bug‘s established Poker Flat, bringing fresh, high quality house music to the world‘s dance floors. Described in his biography as persistent and straight-ahead‘ his debut full-length album, marks the important next chapter in this dedicated producer‘s development.
