Dopo il suo epico album “‘Nobody Climbs These Stairs Without Expecting Something Disturbing”, Roebin esce con un nuovo EP seducente, composto da sei tracce di techno ricca di profondità .
L’ EP dal titolo ‘Contraction EP’ inizia con una melodia profonda e gradualmente martellante.
‘Mekonium’ può considerarsi come un intro profonda o punto di appoggio per molti dj set. Il brano arriva ad culmine nervoso per poi cambiare le percussioni di sfondo che ci trascinano via fino alla fine.
‘Fairy Tale’ potrebbe essere la traccia più estrosa in questo EP, grazie ai suoi archi acuti che si evolvono con frenesia.
Per via della potenza e l’energia che essa trasmette sarebbe ‘Cut Yourself/Releases Pressure’, la scelta che farebbe Offbeat technolover se dovesse nominare la sua preferita di questa release.
E’ invece un lungo viaggio di 14 minuti con un background pieno di lunghi sweep stretchati la title-track di questo ‘Contraction EP’ . Una traccia dove si possono udire nuovi dettagli ad ogni ascolto.
Questo ci porta a ‘Plunge’ un suono duro e industrial. Un brano techno inconsueto che trasmette pura energia oscura su qualsiasi pista da ballo che porta un sound degno di quel nome.
Infine possiamo ascoltare ‘Birds at Dawn’, è un bizzarra “breakbeatish track”, con un evolversi di campane belle scintillanti e trilli in sottofondo.
Una piacevole chiusura per un prodigioso e solido EP.

After his epic album ‘Nobody Climbs These Stairs Without Expecting Something Disturbing’, Roebin delivers another six track EP full of depth and enticing techno.
The ep called ‘Contraction EP’ starts off with a deep and slowly thumping tune. ‘Mekonium’ can count as deep intro or resting point in a lot of dj sets. The track comes to a twitchy climax before altering background percussion send us way towards the end.
‘Fairy Tale’ might well be the most extravagant track on this EP with its sharp strings that evolve into a frenzy.
Offbeat technolovers will certainly name ‘Cut Yourself/Releases Pressure’ as their pick on this release because of the sheer power and energy emitted by it.
The title track of this ‘Contraction EP’ is a 14 minutes long broody trip full of long strecthed background sweeps. A track where you can hear new details with every listen.
This brings us to ‘Plunge’ a harsh, industrial sounding offbeat techno track that sends pure dark energy onto any dancefloor that carries a soundsystem worth that name.
Finally, ‘Birds at Dawn’ is a quirky breakbeatish track wit nice evolving twinkling bells and chirps in the background. A lovely closer for a terrific and solid EP.
